The Chappelle in southwest Edmonton has been one of 15 communities that comprise Heritage Valley. It was previously established as Neighbourhood 10 in the Heritage Valley Servicing Concept Design Brief, and it was developed in 2008 with the implementation of the Chappelle Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP). Chappelle area of Edmonton is bordered on the north by 25th Avenue, west by Whitemud Creek, east by 127th Street, and south by 41st Avenue.
The greater neighborhood of Chappelle comprises of smaller neighborhoods such as Chappelle Gardens which boast lush parks, vast open fields, and wide walkways across the neighborhood. Numerous parks and storm water reservoirs are available through walking paths and the utility right-of-way that runs through the neighborhood from southwest to northeast. A large tract of land has been set aside for a proposed public elementary and junior high school and a potential youth league. The streets in Chappelle, like the rest of Heritage Valley, are titled after prominent Edmontonians.
